Kilgore Trout at Last at Rest

Kurt Vonnegut Jr., the pessimistic genius is no more. He passed away on 4/11/07, due to head injuries sustained in a fall. He was 84 years old. If you haven’t read him – try him.

Here’s the link for his obituary from the N.Y. Times. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/12/books/12vonnegut.html?ex=1191988800&en=aa747f8e1cf65243&ei=5087&excamp=GGGNkurtvonnegut

In “Welcome to the Monkey House” a collection of short stories that he wrote you will find one of my all time favorites, “Long Walk to Forever” – it’s a wonderful love story.

Mark Twain (someone whom Vonnegut will always be compared to) said this, “a writer ought to comfort the afflicted, and afflict the comfortable.” Vonnegut did just that.

Kilgore Trout… you will be missed.
