MP3 Shuffle

I just opened my cell phone and hit the menu for my “Music Library”. I’ve got about two gigs of music stored there. I am going to hit the “shuffle” button and list the first baker’s dozen of songs.

“Why?”

Once again, Gentle Reader, you have asked a fine and poignant question. The only answer that I can come up with, at such short notice, is why not?

So here we go.

1. The Kinks, “Destroyer”
2. Chess, “One Night in Bangkok”
3. Jimmy Buffett, “Nautical Wheelers”
4. The Hooters, “Karla with a K”
5. Jimmy Buffett, “He Went to Paris”
6. Alice Cooper, “Poison”
7. Dan Zanes, “Loch Lomand”
8. Adam Ant, “Goody Two Shoes”
9. The Grateful Dead, “Hell in a Bucket”
10. Duran Duran, “the Chauffer”
11. The Smithereens, “The Blues Before and After”
12. Pete Townsend, “Give Blood”
13. Tom Petty, “House in the Woods”

So there you have it. So what’s playing on your MP3 Player / Ipod?

The MP3 player on my phone has NOTHING that is currently played on any top 40-radio station. If there is a loop I am very far and removed from it.

I'm still migrating to new equipment and accounts. As such, the Silver hasn't gotten the attention it needs.

For some reason the scrobbling does not pick up many of the podcasts I listen to and due to the migration, I lost about a week's worth of music. Oh well . . .

Anyhow, what I've been listening to can be found at last.fm. Mostly podcasts and Grateful Dead and derivatives.

Pax: Too cool. Nice. Lennon, the Georgia Satellites and X. You’re the one who exposed me to “X”. What a great band!

RDOwens9: walking the labyrinth of new accounts stinks to high heaven. I don’t envy you. That’s a pretty neat site that “last-fm”. I gotta say that there is a special place in my heart for the Grateful Dead. I wish I saw them before Jerry passed but I didn’t. I guess the closest I’ve come to jam band status was the Dave Matthews Band. I am a Phish fan and a Jimmy Buffett phan and that’s close but there really is, I would imagine, no substitute for seeing the Dead live with Jerry.
